Whilst no further production is available , we still continue to trade with clearance offers being updated. Clerical collars and studs are available online (a couple of collars sizes are sold out) with clerical shirts that we still have in stock being available, please email your preferred requirements for shirts (see below) and we can respond accordingly.
We continue to add items some stock items to our clearance sale and we are continuing to reduce prices. We will close for Christmas from 4pm on 20th December - 9am on 2nd January. Orders can be placed and emails sent but these will not be attended to until the 2nd January. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
The London shop will close permanently on Friday 27th October 2023. In the meantime, we will be pleased to receive customers to view the clearance items that they currently have in stock. Some of this stock is available to view here. Transfer of any residual stock will take place the following week and will be uploaded to the website after that time.
Further to news already communicated below, the website both www.wippell.co.uk in Sterling and www.wippell.com in US dollars will cease to accept orders at midnight on Saturday 30th September 2023. Over the forthcoming weeks we will attempt to populate the site with clearance sale items, mainly clothing but there will be a few hardware items such as communion sets, chalices etc. as well as a few vestments such as stoles, chasubles, copes. Further details will follow of availability of items that we hold in stock and the clearance price that they are available at. Once these listings are up, you are invited to email in using the contact facilities on either www.wippell.co.uk or www.wippell.com websites and we can respond accordingly.
Standard weight pure wool melton used for cloaks is now sold out and only heavy weight melton available.
Since the notice of our closure and the update of the 10th of July, we have received substantial orders for our most popular products but especially shirts and cassock albs. In the circumstances, we will cease taking orders for these products on 30th of July 2023. We do hold some stock of standard sleeve lengths (32/33") and short sleeve tunnel style 902a in various colors and sizes. Below is a table of the general stock we hold in polyester and cotton, we cannot list all sizes, colors, styles and therefore cannot guarantee availability. Should you be interested in any of these, please email in with your requirement, delivery address and telephone number and we can respond accordingly and raise an order manually.
We are not sure at this stage if we will be in a position to reinstate the acceptance of orders for our extensive range of shirts and cassock albs, please check website for updates. Once again thank you for your patience, understanding and support.
As reported in the media, the company will cease trading later this year and enter into a member's voluntary liquidation. We will continue to accept orders for products that are available from stock or specially made (proviuding we have the selected material), until early August. After this date, there will be a phased reduction of product availability. Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult period.

Substantial headway has been made on our back log of orders and we are now accepting orders for all garments including clergy cassocks and chimeres. New orders placed from today, for non stock items, will be subject to our standard 4- 6 week production lead times. We once again thank you for your patience and support.
All garments except ready to wear Clergy Cassocks and Chimeres are now available to purchase both online and via phone. Budget Clergy Cassock styles 120X/121X W120X and W121X as well as Cincture Bands can now be ordered. All Choir Cassocks are also now available. Delivery is dependent upon material availability but currently we only have scarlet Russell Cord unavailable. Therefore, production on single items is three to four weeks. All cassock albs now available to purchase both online and via phone. All cassock albs remain as made to order, so please allow 3 -4 weeks for delivery from order receipt.

It is with regret that we have to pause the ordering of all Cassocks (Clergy, Choir, Servers and Readers) as well as all Cassock Albs (Clergy, Servers and Choir). We have supply chain issues with some materials taking up to 4 months to be delivered.
In addition the high volume of orders for these products has resulted in a delivery time up to 3 months for an individual single product order. This delivery period has been exceeded for multiple choir orders. Unless we make this decision, the matter will only get worse. We retain in stock a few Cassocks in ready to wear sizing, based on chest/bust and garment length, the same for Cassock Albs. Please email your sizes, style number and material preference and we will advise if we have any availability.
Other clothing products (Shirts, Surplices, Scarves, Gathered Albs and Cottas etc) have experienced similar delays but not to the same extent and for these items production is 4-6 weeks unless held in stock.

Due to unprecedented demand & the effects of the pandemic, our delivery times are being greatly exceeded. Particularly shirts, cassocks and cassock albs. Please allow at least 6 weeks for all items. We do hold a limited stock of shirts in 32/33” sleeve length in plain polyester and cotton materials as well as a few short sleeve 902A (Tunnel style). Please email your requirements within these parameters and we can advise of any stock we hold. Cassocks, cassock albs and similar items that require 2 measurements of body size and length have a very limited stock availability, again please email style, size and material. White work items such as surplices, cottas, traditional albs are not too badly affected by the current situation. Your patience and understanding is very much appreciated.

Prdouction re-started on 1st March 2021 on a limited capacity. We intend continuing this limited production until Easter as with flexible furloughing we can respond quickly to workflow situations. Currently production on non stock items is 10-14 days. Our operating hours continue to be 9am - 4pm Monday to Thursday Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Following Government guidance, we ceased production on 25th January and subsequently have only been able to supply goods ordered that were held in stock . We intend to start production again on 22nd February for a limited period. Orders placed after the 26th January will be made and dispatched in chronological order. As a UK maniufacturer/retailer and following the Government broadcast on Monday 4th January 2021 the current situation regarding production/deliveries/shops are as follows:
US sales office - emails and phone calls are being monitored and responded to. Exeter sales office - essential cover will be available between 9am and 3pm Monday - Thursday. The office will be closed on Fridays.
For items held in stock these will be processed and dispatched within a few days of the order being placed. For orders that require manufacture we have limited production at present but orders are being made and dispatched in a 2 - 3 week period.
Exeter sales office - essential cover will be available between 9am and 12pm on Monday 21st December, Wednesday 23rd December and Wednesday 30th December.
Web orders for clothing items placed before Monday 14th December will be dispatched before the Christmas break. Orders for stocked items placed after 14th December will be actioned and dispatched up to 22nd December. Orders thereafter will be dispatched in the new year.
Our website is open and taking orders. Manfacturing is taking place at scheduled intervals throughout the month. Orders for items held in stock will continue to be dispatched as soon as possible. Orders placed through our website before 21st August have all been dispatched and completed. All production staff were re-furloughed after that date and we are hopeful that further production will commence on Monday 28th September. Orders placed from 22nd August that have to be produced will be made in chronological order. We are confident that we will complete the backlog of orders within a 2 week period of the 28th September. Orders that are held in stock will continue to be dispatched within a few days of the order being placed. Our manufacturing facilities have been re-opened for a 2 week period and orders have been processed and will be dispatched for all orders up to 17th June 2020.
